The Challenge: This historic non-profit faced ambitious and complex goals to modernize its donor engagement, event management, and sales processes. Key challenges included migrating legacy data from disparate systems, unifying fundraising and sales workflows, implementing NPSP and other apps, and setting up a public community portal. Data migration issues, soft credit recognition, and report accuracy were also significant hurdles.

 

The Solution by Applikon: Applikon implemented a comprehensive Salesforce solution, transforming their operational landscape into a seamlessly integrated and efficient ecosystem:

  • Data Migration & Validation: Migrated Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities (Donations and Sales), Payments, and Products from legacy systems, meticulously reviewing and fixing data issues.
  • Salesforce Configuration & Customization: Configured Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), developed automation to differentiate Sales vs. Donations, and refined reporting structures.
  • Public Community & Volunteer Management: Created a Salesforce Experience Cloud site for event registration and volunteer sign-ups, enabling self-identification for returning volunteers.
  • Conga Templates & Document Generation: Customized Conga templates for pre-need and at-need contract generation, mapping burial details and location.
  • Payments Integration: Implemented Pineapple Payments integration with support for multiple payment types (Credit Card, ACH) and partial payments.
  • Salesforce Deprecation Plan & Health Check: Conducted a thorough system audit, identifying and removing duplicate fields and unused automations, and cleaning up conflicts to restore system reliability.
